Virtus.pro became one of the world’s top 10 highest earning esports organizations in the first half of 2019
The Russian esports organization Virtus.pro has secured a spot in the worldwide top 10 rating of esports organizations’ tournament winnings in the first half of 2019. Throughout these 6 months, the organization’s lineups have earned a combined $627 000 in prize money for succeeding in esports tournaments. Out of the mentioned sum, $582 500 has been earned by Virtus.pro Dota 2 roster, with the rest divided between Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Fortnite, and Artifact teams.
Virtus.pro claimed the fifth place in the worldwide earnings leaderboard in 2018. Currently, the organization holds the sixth place in the top list with the combined historical winnings of $12.57 million.
A European organization Team Liquid is currently leading the first half of 2019 leaderboard. Traditionally, significant changes in the rating may occur in the second half of the year due to the conclusion of Dota 2’s The International. At the moment, the prize pool of the annual centerpiece in esports is an unprecedented $26 million, setting a record in Dota 2 esports history.
