Yaroslav Meshalkin speaks at OpenSmartTalk conference

At the OpenSmartTalk conference in Moscow, ESforce’s Chief Strategic Communications Officer Yaroslav Meshalkin joined a panel session titled, “Not just games anymore: making a profit in virtual reality.” The speakers have discussed trends and specifics of the global and Russian esports markets, characteristics of the streaming services’ audience, and investment opportunities created by esports.

The discussion was joined by such investment experts and key players of the esports market as the investment director of “Rosgosstrakh Zhizn” Dmitriy Nuriakhmetov, founder of an international esports-themed learning platform Learn2Play Maksim Dreval, Hello Blogger CEO Tanya Ivanova, and StreamPub digital agency CEO Artur Avakyan. National Research University Higher School of Economics’ Tatiana Magera, who is an expert in strategic sessions, public talks and networking, acted as discussion’s moderator.

Yaroslav Meshalkin: Major brands see how esports allows them to engage with the youth, known for their almost universal disdain of television and usage of AdBlock. Integrating with esports events broadcasts, teams’ media resources, placing brand imagery on player uniforms, hosting their own competitions, and other tools allow brands to bypass those obstacles. All the while esports boasts a very high level of emotional engagement with its viewers, which means the brand engagement becomes even more effective.”
