Esports fan from Irkutsk won an A-class Mercedes-Benz sedan in the Most Valuable Fan contest

A global automobile brand Mercedes-Benz has held a contest “the Most Valuable Fan” aimed at Russian esports fans together with ESforce Holding and Publicis Sport & Entertainment. The winner was decided in two stages: an open vote with 3500 participants acting as impartial judges, and via a jury formed from esports community experts. To win, the contestants have submitted short videos about their passion – their favorite esports team. The winner of “the Most Valuable Fan” title, Renat Chernigovskiy from Irkutsk, has dedicated his entry to team and received a Mercedes-Benz A-class sedan.

More than 2200 fans submitted for the contest. The entries that met the contests’ rules have been rated by the viewers and members of the celebrity jury. The expert panel included: RuHub studio commentators Vladimir “Maelstorm” Kuzminov and Yaroslav “NS” Kuznetsov, journalist Yana “Lady Frika” Medvedeva, team reporter Maria “Mrs. Marple” Ermolina, and NaVi team reporter Yana “b2ru” Khimchenko.

The winner was announced in the grand award ceremony taking place in Moscow Yota Arena during the broadcast of the ESL One Hamburg 2019 final stage. As the award ceremony was integrated into RuHub studio broadcast, Renat’s victory was seen by tens of thousands of the tournament viewers.

Mercedes-Benz making exciting esports projects a reality is a long-standing tradition by now. As early as in 2016, Mercedes-Benz became an official partner of European League ESL. This partnership resulted in the Most Valuable Player campaign that has been taking place for the third year in a row. As per 2019, the viewers and the expert community have awarded the best players of ESL series automobiles with a total value of 300 000 Euro. Thanks to the Russian Most Valuable Fan campaign, the esports fans have also been able to leave their mark in the esports history.
