Epic Esports Events announces Dota 2 tournament series — Epic League, and launches registration for Origins division

The organizer of EPICENTER tournament series, Epic Esports Events company (a member of ESforce Holding), announces a brand new tournament series — Epic Dota 2 League. The series will feature three divisions: Epic Origins League, Epic Challenger League, and Epic Prime League. The open qualifiers of the initial division, Epic Origins League, are to start on 4th February, 17:00 MSK and are open for any CIS team. RuHub studio will provide live coverage of the games.

We are excited to announce a new CIS-based league where any team may participate, score points and advance to the higher divisions, and challenge the strongest opponents. I’m certain we will see new Dota 2 stars born through this league.”

Epic Origins League will include 8 open qualifiers, 2 teams from each will go to the group stage. The matches are to be played in the best-of-three round-robin system, where all teams-participants will compete for the maximum amount of points.

The teams from 1st through 4th places will advance to the play-offs where the games will be played in the double-elimination system in the best-of-three format. The teams from 5th through 10th places will remain in their division until the next event. 11th and 12th places will play elimination matches with the teams from the open qualifiers, and the lineups from 13th through 16th places will be eliminated from the league.

Epic Origins League prize pool is $12 000:

  • 1st place: $3200;

  • 2nd place: $2500;

  • 3rd place: $1500;

  • 4th place: $1000;

  • 5-10th places: $500;

  • 11-12th places: $400. 

Epic Origins League 1st and 2nd places will advance to Epic Challenger League division with a prize pool $30 000, and the teams in 3rd and 4th places will play in elimination matches versus the 5th and 6th places of Epic Challenger League.
